So I worked throug hthe spyware/virus forum to get my system cleaned up but my issue persists.

When I click the IE button, it takes several minutes for IE to load.

Once IE is up, it runs fine, but new windows take forever to load too.

Any idea of the cause?

Thanks

It may be a sign of IE being corrupted by virus. Try updating IE and then see if it helps.

    Try these steps
    Open Internet Explorer.
Click on the Tools button (Cogwheel) from the upper right side of the window, and then click on Manage add-ons.
Under Show, choose “All add-ons” from the dropdown menu. ...
Select each add-on that you wish to remove and click on Disable.
