PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:win 98se
Problem Application Name & Version:IBM Viavoice
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

Hi Everybody, I recently tried to install IBM Viavoice onto my harddrive but only about half of it was installed. I would like to uninstall these bits of viavoice but it does not appear in the programs list or in Add/Remove programs. Can I remove it using Find>Files and folders and deleting any reference to viavoice or is there any other way.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi,

The ideal way to remove software is through its uninstall program but if the application was not completely installed (successful) then, as you noticed, the app may not be listed in the 'Add/Remove Program' applet in the Control Panel. Verify if the Viavoice create a program group in the Start menu and if so, see if there is a link to the uninstall program. If not, I would suggest re-installing the app so that the uninstall program is installed to then properly remove it.

If the installation was not completed because the setup failed, then the only way is to manually remove the application (not recommended). You need to find the installation folder (usually in c:\program files), delete it (to recycle bin) and then go through the registry and remove all entries for Viavoice.

IMPORTANT: Make sure you export (backup) your full registry before deleting anything. This can be done in REGEDIT
