I clearly mistakenly downloaded something I shouldn't have & now the "tuvaro" http://www-search.net/search/search.html?s=E8Fztugdu0338%2c7788d6fd-344d-4c08-9f26-74c2414a19dd%2c&fnt=1 has completely hijacked all of my web browsers (firefox & internet explorer). I have run a number of adware removal programs & it is no longer listed in my control panel programs, but I can't seem to get it off of my browsers.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

I realized after posting that I forgot to mention that my OS is Windows 8.
Also, I have attached a HJT log if that will help.
Thanks again.

Hi and welcome.

Please download Junkware Removal Tool and save it on your desktop.
  • Shut down your anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewall software now to avoid potential conflicts.
  • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7, right-click it and select Run as administrator.
  • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
  • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
  • On completion, a log is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
  • Please attach the JRT log.
====================================

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode onto your desktop.
  • Close all open programs and internet browsers.
  • Double click on adwcleaner.exe to run the tool.
  • Click on Scan button.
  • When the scan has finished click on Clean button.
  • Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
  • Please post the contents of that logfile with your next reply.
  • You can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner[S1].txt as well.
=================================================

Please download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware from Malwarebytes.org
Alternate link: Download Mirror

(Note: if you already have the program installed, just follow the directions. No need to re-download or re-install!)

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.

(Note: if you already have the program installed, open Malwarebytes from the Start Menu or Desktop shortcut, click the Update tab, and click Check for Updates, before doing the scan as instructed below!)
Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. If you are prompted to restart, please allow it to restart your computer. Failure to do this, will cause the infection to still be active on the computer.
Please save the log to a location you will remember.
The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
The log can also be found at C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Application Data\Malwarebytes\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt or at C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\Logs\log-date.txt
Copy and paste the entire report in your next reply.
If Malwarebytes fails to download please use the following link:

Hi there,
So I am afraid I was unable to download the Junkware Removal Tool, as my laptop said the link lead to "Non 7z archive" and for the third program (Malwarebytes Anti-Malware), my laptop gave me the error message "The setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program."
I was, however, able to actually download & run Adwcleaner, so I have attached the log for that. There were two logs, one with [R0] and the other with [SO] and I wasn't sure which one was the correct one, so I included both of them.
If you have any recommendations on how I can access the Junkware Removal Tool and the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware tool, or alternatively have other tools I can try, I will certainly give it another try, but as mentioned above, have thusfar had no success.
Thanks again.

Make sure you remove to old Malwarebytes and then get a new copy from here. https://www.malwarebytes.org/downloads/ . By the look of things It looks as if that has removed the problem line from your browser. ?

After deleting the old malwarebytes file, I was able to successfully download the program using the alternate link you provided.

I was asked to reboot & then went in to find the log, here is the information:

Unfortunately it turns out I'm not good to go  Sad

I turned off my computer last night after thinking the problem was resolved & when I turned it on again this morning it is now back!!!

I've reattached a HJT log to see if there is anything else that might be wrong. I'm worried the next step is going to be to have to reformat the computer altogether Sad

You wont need to format. It shows that the scan deleted it from Firefox. Check Add/Remove and see whats there. Follow these steps and see if its still present. https://tuvaro.com/about/help

It is no longer in my programs & when I go to my options in both firefox & IE, it lists my homepage as google (which is what I want it to be). Having said that, it is still the first window that opens up when I open any of my browsers. Sad

Have you checked Manage-add-ons under IE Tools ?

Rather than trying to explain it all, check the properties on your IE short cut on your desk top .See link below.
