I am trying to install windows 98SE, and by accident I deleted some files of windows 95 which I thought would free up some space. I then went to restart it and it came up blank and did nothing. I have no CD to windows 95, is there anyway I can get the files back??

OS: windows 95

Regards Jig.

If the deleted files were sent to the recycled bin, you can recover them but if you emptied the recycled bin you will need an "unerase" type utility to recover if the deleted files were not everwritten by now (which may be the case).

Were you not able to install Win98SE?

Probably complained you already had an operating system, right?

This is what you do:

Run setup with this switch off the Win98SE cd: 'setup /ntldr' (no quotes)
