Suppose a company wants to design a switch that can accommodate 500,000 different connections simultaneously.  Ehat is the minimum number of bits that must be used to identify each connection?

Is this a quiz?

I am assuming you're referring to a binary addressing method. You would need at least a 19-bit address bus which could address up to 524288 locations.

Is this what you're asking?

Ouch! I think I hurt myself thinking about this!
