I received an e-mail with a .pps attachment which I am unable to open. Can you tell me what program I need to download in order to open these types of files?

You need Power Point to open .pps attachments.

If you don't have Microsoft Office you can download a PowerPoint viewer from http://www.microsoft.com/office/ork/xp/appndx/appa13.htm which will allow you to view the file but not edit it.
