ok press ctrl+alt+del once and from the box that comes up end task on everything butexplorer, systray i believe everything else can be shut off and that should help you defrag if it doesnt try defragging in safemode.....second from an internet explorer page click tools then internet options then where it says temporary internet files clcik on settings then view objects look and see if any of those objects says damaged and if they are right click and choose remove after that click on ok to close those boxes and the close internet explorer and try going to microsoft windows update and it should reinstall the downloader as for the error 0x800A138f try updating the java everything i find on that error code suggests it is a java problem hope this helps

Hi,

Also try to remove any proxy settings....

1. Tools > Internet Options...
2. Connection tab
3. Settings or LAN Settings button (depending on connection type you have)
4. Uncheck any boxes checked
