PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:Win 98
Problem Application Name & Version:Internet Explorer 6
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:



A web site I visited has changed my home page as well as installed an adult search bar on my browser. I have tried to reset my home page to no avail and have also tried to use the find command to delete the files or folders that may contain the problem......Please help

This is considered spyware and adware.  This link from microsoft might help you reset your home page and search.

It might not apply to the toolbar however, but you might be able to make it inactive (view, toolbars, uncheck the adult bar).

To remove the toolbar you probably need to find out what DLL was registered when it was installed, and then run the DOS command: regsvr32 /u dllname.dll. (replace "dllname.dll" with the proper dll name).

These businesses are very tricky in their software installations.  Try to find out exactly what version of spyware is installed, and hopefully you can find someone has posted specific removal instructions for that particular version of spyware through "google" searches.

if you use spybot search and destroy and adaware both are very good at fixing probs like this
