Error Messages:D:\ is not accessible
Hi
I've just installed a new CD drive. My PC has no problems accessing discs with content but when I try and save files to a blank disc (eg photos from my camera) I get a message saying D:\ is not accessible.
Any ideas?
This may be a further clue (or may not) but I'm getting the same message when trying to save files to floppy discs (except the drive letter is 'A' instead of 'D').
Any advice much appreciated

Not sure! If you try to save to a drive without a floppy it will say not accessible drive not ready. The fact that you can read from d drive says it working. To write to a cdr-rom drive requires a good quality cdr or cdrw (by the way a cdrw needs to be formated to work but never format a cdr it will make it unusable). Cdrom drives of course are read only.
Other than that your 3 1/2 floppy drive should be unaffected. Can you read from it?
I don't know if I have been much help.

get a cd cleaner it looks like a cd disk with brushes on it and also see if there is a disk or something for cleaning the floppy drive also check and make sure your cables to those devices are attached securely if they are and the cleaners do not work try a new cable on those devices

Hi,
Are you trying to save files to the cdrw through Windows Explorer? If so, you need a packet writting software (e.g. Roxio's Direct CD) to be installed and the cdrw disk needs to be formatted using this software and the session open before you can write to it.
