PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows 98
Problem Application Name & Version: ibm 80 gb
Problem Hardware Make & Model:pent 4 2.5mhz
Error Messages: low disk space

I just installed this new 80 gb hard drive.  Now I keep getting an error message saying "low disk space"  It is showing 1.99 gb capacity with 1.94 used.  Why is it showing so low capacity?

The only thing I know about the harddrive is that it is an IBM 80 GB.   I didn't format when I installed.  Didn't know that I was supposed to, there was no instructions in the package.  Is there anything I can do to fix it now?

what i suggest is to do a complete reformat and partition

put your win98 startup floppy in the floppy drive and reboot, when the options comeup choose with cdrom support and then it will boot to a:\
from a:\ type this without the quote marks "fdisk" then it will ask questions on the disk choose "enable large disk support" and "fat32"  then when it is done still from a:\ type "format c: /s" without the quote marks so it looks like this  a:\format c: /s after it is done formatting reboot the pc with cdrom support and from there go to d:\ and type setup and press enter if it does not start windows setup then go to e:\ and type setup and it will begin

Angry:(Still isn't working.  I formated and partioned just like you said.  In the bios it shows 82 gb, but on the control panel it is only showing 1.99 gb.  and I keep getting the error message of low disk space.  Any more suggestions?
