PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:xp pro
Problem Application Name & Version:Outlook Express
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

My hard drive is crashing so I have set it up as the slave on a friends pc and I am able to access my files on it. It is looking as if I am going to need to format it and start again but I don't wantr to loose the emails in my inbox on outlook express. Does any one know how to back them up without being able to actually open up outlook express to do it. Is there a file somewhere on the hard drive that contains all of the emails. If so I persume I can then jusk copy it to cd and place it back in once I have formatted the drive and reinstalled windows again.

I am grateful for any help

Thanks
Tom

Hi,

Look here:

"C:\Documents and Settings\AccountName\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{BA74AED0-B23C-4E73-9A7F-E9D3645A5C3B}\Microsoft\Outlook Express"

Where AccountName is the username you log into WinXP with.
Please note the folder {BA74AED0-B23C-4E73-9A7F-E9D3645A5C3B} may be named differently.
