Hi,

How was the BIOS erased? Was is flashed with an incorrect BIOS update or by a virus? Why do you believe it was erased?

If that is the case, then all I have to say is, call IBM! If the BIOS is in a socket, then maybe you can buy a good one off them!

I will try to show my perillous sequence of events...

First I set JP9(CMOS clear),and JP11,JP21(flash,FDD write protect)....power up...
Or I ran a FLASH program before I set these Jumpers, because I remember seeing a BIOS conditioning process running.---and then set that fatal combo of jumpers.

Thats why I beleive it was erased because after I tried to restart the screen was blank(no POST messages), there were no beeps, the CD lit-up and went off,and the floppy does not respond in the start up process.(no lights no sounds from the floppy)

I was trying to attach the IBM340 adobe(info manual)
or even a cut/paste bitmap of the board to show you the jumpers I had set JP11,JP21(flash,FDD wite protect).

Hi,

Did you try resetting all the jumpers you changed back to their original settings?
Did you perhaps accidentally loosen any connections?

Check to make sure all card, memory, CPU, ribbon cables and power cables are well attached/connected/seated.
