PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:Windows ME
Problem Application Name & Version:CD AND CD/R DRIVES
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:SETUP HAS DETECTED A CORRUPT SETUP(.CAB)FILE
THIS MAY BE CAUSED BY A VIRUS,LOW CONVENTIONAL MEMORY,BAD MEDIA,OR A HARDWARE PROBLEM. SEE THE ERROR MESSAGES SECTION OF SETUP.TXT FOR MORE INFORMATION.SETUP CANNOT CONTINUE.CLICK OK TO QUIT SETUP.................I had a problem with my computer booting properly as it came up with an error message saying Boot disk faliure....and if i just clicked ok everything would start up fine except for the fact that both my drives were not recognised in the SYSTEM...DEVICE MANAGER...I tried to re install the drivers but they wouldnt re install....so i decided in my infinite wisdom to format my PC and to re install windows....but every time i try to re install I get the error message above....any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you

Hi,

Here is what comes to mind:

1. Dirty WinME installation CD, clean it
2. Defective cdrom drive, try the other since it appears you have two
3. Bad sectors on hard drive, run scandisk from WinME Startup Disk
4. Other hardware problem (e.g. bad memory...) Test memory
