Hi,

What was the last software installed before this problem started?

Installing the latest service pack may resolve this since explorer.exe is usually updated. http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/downloads/servicepacks/sp4/default.asp

I don't know. PC is at work. The gal that uses it doesn't open win. explorer so she has no idea how long it has been like this. About 5 or 6 weeks ago (I think) Serv pack 4 was installed. Can I reinstall SP4? SP4 is not in the add/remove programs list.

Hi,

If you have SP4 available, try re-installing it. No need to uninstall first.

Thank You very much! Reinstalling SP4 was the fix. Since I already had SP4, Windows update would not show it again. I had to go to Microsoft downloads to find it. Thanks again!
