Hi,

What were you doing when the messages to replace certain certificates came up? Were you on the internet? If so, read this Microsoft Article http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;321677

If not, is there more to the error message?

It would be if I'd left it doing nothing for a while, it would show me the message about inserting the windows disk (I'd then normally restore it but have run out of restore points)

That's sorted the error message but certain programmes still will not load....

I think it is something to do with an external sound card I installed a few months ago (A message said that the certificates did not have a guarantee by xp when I installed them)

How would I go about un-installing these certificates?

Hi,

What service did you set to manual?
What programs will not load?
What happens when they don't load? (e.g. nothing, error message...)
