PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:windows XP
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:pentium III
Error Messages:

I have just formatted my hard drive and re-installed windows 98 then upgraded to windows Xp. I have gone to the microsoft update page but it won't let me download the updates and I don't know why?
Any ideas please?
Also I am trying to put my Norton system works, including Norton virus scan & Norton Firewall back on, but it is not letting me do that either! I don't know why? I am worried that I am vunerable to the Master Blaster Virus until I sort this problem out. Is it something to do with explore? Just a thought. I have no idea really!
Please help.

Thank you.

Hi,

Is the same system that needs activation (from this thread)?

You most likely need to activate your product before you can run updates.

Hi,

Have you tried it again? Perhaps the service was unavailable!

Is your browser set to use a proxy server? If so, try without it.
1. In IE, Tools > Internet Options...
2. Connections tab
3. Select "LAN Settings" or "Settings" button from connection type your using
4. Deselect all three check boxes.
