Hi,

Try this to remove messenger:
1. Start > Run
2. Type 'RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection%windir\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove' (no quotes)
3. Click ok and reboot

OR

To un-install Messenger:
1. You have to edit sysoc.inf (located in /WINDOWS/inf).
2. Under [Components] you should see the following line:
msmsgs=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7.
Take the word 'hide' out of the line, and it should look like this:
msmsgs=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,,7.  Exit and save.
Notice the two commas before the 7
3. Goto Add/Remove programs > Add/Remove Windows Components
4. You should see an entry for MSN messenger at the bottom, allowing you to uninstall it.
