Hi,

Seems like the DOS level cdrom driver was remarked out. The OAK driver is a generic cdrom drive for DOS, which has nothing to do with Windows or the cdrw capabilities of your cdrw drive but fixing this may allow the setup program to complete properly.
I am assuming the setup program is for the CDRW drive, right?

Edit 'c:\config.sys' and make this line:

rem TShoot: DEVICE=c:\cdrom\oakcdrom.SYS /D:IDECD000

look like this:

DEVICE=c:\cdrom\oakcdrom.SYS /D:IDECD000

Save and exit, reboot

This may allow you to run setup successfully.

Let me know if you have installed any new software/hardware before this problem started. Also verify in Device Manager that the cdrw is listed and working properly. Also let me know if any devices have a yellow dot in front of it (in Device Manager)

First off, thank you for responding to my issue...

I did what you suggested...my CD program still saying that there is no CDR or CDRW drive detected...in system properties...I clicked on the CDROM...and the cd is listed as CD writer 2410...it says under drive that no files are required or have been loaded for this device, to click update driver and I did that and it said the best driver is already installed...any other suggestions?

Hi,

Can you access CDs from Windows Explorer?
Is the problem only with the burning software? If so, did this ever work?
