Hi,

Are these fairly new games or older ones?
Do you have the latest video card drivers installed?

Hi,

Verify that the minimum DirectX requirement for these games is what you have installed.

To verify installed version:
Start > Run > dxdiag

Hi,

Who manufactured your video card? What is the make and model?

Hi
The video card is a NVIDIA GeForce FX5200
I have now tried several drivers and all have either no effect or make the problem worse

Hi,

Could your video card/system be overheating? Check all you fans and make sure they are spinning. Also make sure the CPU fan is well attached to the CPU.
