Hi,

What do you mean by "cant get xp to show up on other h/drive"?

What is it you're trying to do?
Do you want to dual boot between WinXP and Win98?
or Are you simply trying to add the second drive?

Why does WinXP not play the kids game?
Did you run out of disk space?
Are the games not WinXP compatible?

If the games are not WinXP compatible, right click the game's EXE file and select Make compatible, and run as Win98 compability.

ok, sorry for lack of info. comp got 14 gb hard drive with Winxp on, the older kids games dont work even if try makin 98 compatable, so i purchased a new 40 gb drive, i put that in comp and now that has win 98 OS on it, so kids games run ok, now :-) mrs wants her xp back , so made 40 gb drive master and 14 gb slave and i want both the drives to work and dual boot it,can i do this with the 14 gb drive still having Win xp on it or do i have to start again and partion it all and go from there , i was hoping for a easy fix
Thanks

Hi,

Since both drives already have an installed version of Windows the only thing to do is fix the boot sector of the first drive to be able to access either installation.

Boot off the WinXP cd and run the Recovery Console. Then at the command prompt, type 'bootcfg /scan' <ENTER> (no quotes). This will scan all drives for Windows installations and allow you to add to the Boot Menu. If this doesn't work, try running FIXBOOT before.
