Hi,

Win2k should recognize the drives. Are they listed as working properly in Device Manager?

If so, the cdrw and dvd function are achieved through the cdrw software and DVD player. They may need to be upgraded to a Win2k version.

Thanks for the advice.  I called lg support and I believe I`ve got the burner working.  There`s still issues with the Samsung sd-608 and samsung support is almost nonexistent for this model.  Once again, thanks for your help.

Hi,

What was done to get the CDRW working?

What DVD player software are you using?

Well, I called LG support and they said to connect the CDRW alone as a master on the secondary IDE.  Do an uninstall on the device off of "My Computer" and reboot.  The computer searched for new hardware, installed the drivers and lo and behold...it works!  Could`ve been a service pack that supported the drivers.  As far as the SD-608, I haven`t had any luck on the drivers....I`ll keep you posted.

Take a look at what I found this morning......It`s firmware but I don`t have anything to lose.  If you can figure how to flash that sd-608, let me know.

Well, I`m back again.  Still can`t get my samsung sd-608 to work.  I went to w2k hardware compatibility page and it said that it supported this drive.  I went into device manager and it said that the drive was working properly.  So, I stick a disc in and it says "please insert disc in drive".  I never could flash the firmware after several attempts.  Any thoughts?
