Error Messages:

A couple of weeks ago I was instructed to upgrade by ATT Worldnet acct to a new version of the software Vers. 7.  I downloaded the program from the web, and installed the program.  Ever since this has been done, I am unable to connect to the web..I get a handshake and a connection only brief, and then an error message "can't connect to the registration server, try again"

I think either there is a corrupted or missing file after the install, as I have tried getting on to other ISP's now and can't.  I get the same message.  Phone line is ok.   Any ideas on what is wrong and how I might get the system back up?

I would try to re-install the Windows Dial-up Adapter.

Make sure you have all the info for your Dial-Up connection before doing this.

1. Open "My Computer" and double click "Dial-Up Networking"
2. Right click your connection and select "Properties"
3. On the "General" tab, write down the phone number
4. Go to "Server Types" tab and click on "TCP/IP Settings..." button and write down your settings (if any)
5. Close the connection properties, select the connection and delete it.
6. Go to the Control Panel and open Network
7. Select "Dial-Up Adapter" and remove.
8. Then Add the adapter back and supply your Win98 CD when asked.

Let me know if this helps
