Hi,

Are you using the mouse to copy/paste or the keyboard CTRL-C/CTRL-V?

Does one or the other work?

Thanks for answering...

....I'm using mouse to get the text "blue" and then I press ctrl-c/-v
....files: trying to copy with mouse only (right-click-copy or move on desktop) => doesn't work

bye Sad

Hi,

I could not find any reported bug on this problem. It could be a virus, try http://housecall.trendmicro.com for a free online antivirus scanner.

Hi,

I would try a repair installation of Windows XP

Boot off the WinXP cd and setup will start, then select "R" for repair when asked.

Hi,

Some drivers may need to be re-installed for unsupported (in WinXP) devices but everything else should remain intact (e.g. installed software...)

I would backup 'C:\Documents and Settings' just in case. Simply copy the contents to a new folder (e.g. 'c:\backup')

Obviously in your case you will have to do this in a Command Prompt!

1. Open a Command Prompt
2. type 'md c:\backup' <ENTER> (no quotes)
3. Type 'cd \docume~1' <ENTER> (no quotes)
4. Type 'xcopy . c:\backup /h/v/e' <ENTER> (no quotes)

so perhaps I need to say that I didn'T install mouse-drivers yet but this wouldn't change this copy/paste-problem ... anyway I'll try a re-installation tomorrow

Perhaps it's caused by a non-virus-programm like icq or something !?
