PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows XP Pro
Problem Application Name & Version: Quicktime Task
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:


I was browsing the net and i accidentally installed quicktime in my pc. the funny thing is that it's not the full quicktime program but only the qttask in my startup application. i was wondering if there is someone who can tell me how do i permanently remove the qttask from my startup application. i do not want to disable it in the msconfig. i want to permanently remove it. please advise. thanks

Hi,

You can remove from registry and then delete the file.

WARNING: Be very careful what you do in regedit, changes are instant and cannot be undone.

1. Start > Run > Regedit
2. Look in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run for QTTASK.EXE and delete that entry.
3. Search for QTTASK.EXE on hard drive and delete.
