PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:Windows XP Home
Problem Application Name & Version:Windows XP
Problem Hardware Make & Model:VPR Matrix model 2020(P4 2.0, 100gig hd
Error Messages:



I have a box that had linux on it and I want to put windows XP back on it. I have the restore disks that came from the manufacturer, VPR Matrix.(model 2020 if important) When I try to install windows it says its complete and tell s me to reboot but when I do a black screen that says "GRUB .93" comes up. How do I get windows on this computer.

I am sad to hear that you left linux and went back to windows. To get your windows back, you need to rewrite your master boot record (mbr). To do this do the following.

Boot up to the recovery console, and use the fixmbr command.

This should get you back into windows Sad

Thank you. Next Question, I don't have the "real" xp disk. Just have the restore disks that came from the manufacturer.  Where do I go from here.  Having it dual boot is fine but I dont know how.
