Operating System Version: XP Home Edition
Problem Application Name & Version: IE Version 6.0.2800.1106.xpsp2
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages: None

The limited accounts on my XP home edition cannot access nor set any favorites on IE6. Under the Tools tab, I get the option to Add to Favorites or Organize Favorites, but when I click on either it just ignores me. The individual user folders that I see in Windows Explorer have Favorites folders, and have default websites in these folders, but the users cannot access them. I have tried with "Enable Personalized Menus" (in internet options) on and off.

The Admin account has no problem with this, though limited users should be able to do this according to XP.

I checked the registry setting for Favorites (hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\current version\Explorer\User Shell Folders) and, although all other settings there (cookies, history, cache) point to %userprofile%\<key name>, the Favorites points to c:\windows\favorites.  In hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\current version\Explorer\Shell Folders the favorites key is blank. I updated both to the correct key, closed out IE. But then when I reopen IE it overwrites the registry to the old incorrect entries. Please help...
