Hi everyone,
I'm new to the forum and need help.

Ive got a p4 1.8
microstar 6534 motherboard
running on xp
512mb ram

I want to upgrade my graphics gard from a nvidia 400mx to possibly a fx 5600,5700 or 5900. My p.c came ready built and this is the first time ive attempted to upgrade. all the cards i want to upgrade to need a 250watt power supply and one states it requires a spare power dongle ?. my p.c has 230volt power supply and in my motherboards manual it says the agp slot will take 1x/2x or 4x all the cards i can choose from are 8x, can i upgrade?

I think you will find that you will only have a 4x and you will  need a 300watt PSU.Go to the MSI forum and ask the guys there as they are the guru's http://forum.msi.com.tw/
