I earlier posted a question as to how to deal with the fact that my internet explorer does not launch through the desktop or task bar (it only launches through windows explorer). I recently deleted a lot of cookies from the C:/ drive in hopes that pop-ups and advertisements would stop appearing. After this they have practically disappeared, replaced on occassion by error messages saying a particular internet (popup) file cannot be launched, but the Internet now is not functioning as well (besides the launching problem, it responds to some links but not others).I have a Windows 98/2000 system (not Windows XP) and cannot fathom what I could have done wrong. Is this more likely to be a problem connected with Internet explorer program files, or with some other program files or application files??
Please help!! ps.thank you Pancake for responding so far. My email is if you have any suggestions.
