PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:win xp pro
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model: dell workstation
Error Messages: "file not found try reinstalling", also get "cannot find rundll32.exe"

THe computer boots up ok, but when i try to run any and mean any program I get the above error message.

I can go to the control panel but, when i click on say add/remove programs get error message cannot find rundll32.exe

if I try to run a program say "word" get message that it cannot find the program but i have not changed the link or path.  Even if I go to the run file itself get error that file could not be found.

Any ideas before I think about reinstlling windows and hope that solves the program.

Thanks...Bartman

Put the Windows XP CD ROM disk in the CD ROM drive.
Click Start, and then click Run.
Type "expand X:\i386\rundll32.ex_ c:\windows\rundll32.exe" (without quotes) in the Open box. X is the letter of your CD ROM Drive.
Restart the computer.
