PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:XP Pro
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:Standard DVD player and a Standard CD burner
Error Messages: Frequently both Drives give me the "Please insert disc" message when I try to use either one. They both fail at the same time. If I re-boot with a disc in each, they will recover. Otherwise I remove the drivers and boot, then XP installs and I am ok for a little while...?.

Do you have them as "slave" and "master" on the same cable ?. If so remove the cable and power connectors and reboot. Then shut off, reconnect the cable and reboot.Reinstalling the drivers this time should stablise it.It did with mine.

Thanks Pancake...I tried your idea with the drives empty, but there was no joy...I put a data disc in each one and re-booted and
I got happiness again???. They have been working flawlessly for almost a year until 3 weeks ago. Did you swap the power and cables when you did yours?.

I went to Microsoft web page and found that if Easy Creator 5 was installed previously, uninstalling it before installing Creator 6, will not eliminate changes to the registry. This has to be done to clear up the problem. On Microsoft web page type in Easy Creator and it will take you to the solution. It worked for me....Malcolm.
