Problem Hardware Make & Model:compusa
Error Messages:Sorry, but i am really new to all this, so please excuse my stupidity. How do i set up my computer so you have to know a password to log on? Thank you,linbre10

Hi Brenda,

Unfortunately you can bypass the login box in Win9X/WinME by hitting the <ESC> key.

I am assuming you want to restrict the use of this system from someone. The best thing to do is either enter a BIOS password (could be dangerous if you forget it) which would prompt for a password right when you power up the system and will not allow to boot Windows until a valid password is entered or use a third party utility like SecureIT Pro (free!) http://www.quantrix.net/ (Change Startup option to secure)

you can also stop the user entering the system without login
