Hi,
What do you mean "it does not allow me to fdisk"?
Are you getting an error message?
What are you trying to do, remove or create a partition?
Is the drive's master/slave jumper setting properly set?

Hi,
If FDISK returns that it cannot find a fixed disk, then the BIOS may not be translating the hard drive parameters because it is old. In this case, I would look for a BIOS update for that motherboard so large drives are supported.
If you give me the make and model of your motherboard I will look it up.
