I've got startup problems with my pc. I'm running Win ME version4.90.3000.
When I boot my pc I get this error message:-
" Verifying DMI pool data ........
Windows is bypassing your startup files
minimal network support wil be loaded if available

Please press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to restart your computer. "

If I do that, it happens again, and again etc. But if I pres the CTRL as it boots up,ie,go to the safe mode menu, and choose 'normal' startup, it boots ok !
I must point out that I am probably to blame for this mess, because I 'hot swapped' a keyboard just before this problem started (ps/2 not usb)!! I know, I know, I shoudn't have done it, but I was getting a bit frustrated with things
Anyway, I'll never do that again, haha.EmbarrassedEmbarrassed
So if anyone can help me, I will be very grateful.
               thanks in advance

Hi,

Once in Windows, try Start > Run > MSCONFIG and make sure "Normal startup" is selected.
