Operating System Version: Windows Me
Problem Application Name & Version: Internet Explorer 5.5 , Opera 7

I've re-installed Windows Me on the same partition (C:). After that Whenever i try to open any web page my browsers ( IE or Opera) keep looking for the web address without opening any. My connection status shows that there is no transfer of data through my modem. However when i use any peer-to-peer program like Kazaa or paltalk I can download files with no problem.
Can I have a solution for my problem?

Try running the Internet Setup Wizard on IE. Tools/Internet Options/Connections/Setup.An upgrade to IE6 might also help.
