I have mIRC loaded on my laptop, but the prob is that I never loaded it!! It pops up at startup then it disapears..I have tried to remove it from control panel but it will not work..i have also checked msconfig and task manager but it is not there..I am running XP Pro..I am sure this is some sort of virus..What should I do??..plz help asap!!!!!!!

Even if you loaded Mirc it would not appear in the control panel but in Program Files. I cant see how you got it in the first place. Get "SpyBot S&D" and see if that clears it. Could someone have downloaded Mirc without you knowing ??

Well, it does appear in the control panel but im not able to remove it that way. I definitely did not download it myself (till afew days I did not even know what it is)Well, someone is hackin into my comp (my ex) and Im sure he did something..Its really gettin annoying everytime my system boots up I get this pop up of mIRC..I even tried removing it from regedit it safe mode that did not even work..ummm yeah I do have spy bot and that did not pick it up..Im lost, I dont know wut to do!!

its simple someone from IRC has hacked your pc and is using you as a xdcc bot. Your host is basically a robot now for uploading files to others. sux dont it :\  the A holes who did this to you probably didnt rename the services because there retarded so if your lucky you might find something in start menu/run/ type services.msc look for all automatic or started services if one isnt there called mirc check the properties and see if something suspicious has the file end location name of mirc.exe. if you find it disable it and maybe look into a firewall and things of that nature.
