Hi all,
I hope someone can help me.  I am currently running XP Home Edition and I am trying to wipe out my hard-drive (format) and install Windows XP Pro Service Pack One but I'm having problems when the installation gets to the format part.  It is saying that there is no hard drive found and it cannot continue.  How can this be?  Is there something I need to change in my CMOS settings to have it recognized, like maybe specify a Master drive, etc.  I have no idea what to do.  I am not very computer savy and really need help with this one.  I appreciate it.  Thanks

Joe

Why do you want to format. Why cant you install SP1 on Home as it is.If you insert your Windows disc and select "New Install" when it boots up XP will  format it for you.

I would really like to do a format of my C: drive prior to installing SP1 so I can start anew.  With all the pop-ups and junk that I can't seem to get rid of I want to wipe the slate clean if you will instead of just installing SP1 over top of my existing XP Home Edition.
