Hi,

If you're referring to the Parallel port, then remove the one in Other Devices and the one under Ports in Device Manager and reboot. Things should sort themselves out.
Windows 2000 has the driver for the parallel port built-in.

i think i have a similar problem. when i was updating my windows 2000 pro from the net suddenly, i got disconnected. when i tried to reconnect, i failed to do so. the error read that it cannot establish a connection because it failed to detect a modem and/or other devices that are related to this. so i checked the hardware manager, the driver for the modem is still there but there's already a ? in parallel device under other devices. i dont know what that is and i dont know what to do. where can i find a driver for this? i dont even know what a parallel device is. im really not a techie. thanks in advance for the help!
