PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: XP Home
Problem Application Name & Version: Need for Speed Underground, Pro Evolution Soccer 3
Problem Hardware Make & Model: AthlonXP 1700+ , 288MB RAM, 64MB GeForce4 MX

I am having problems with these games running very slowly on my computer (about half the real speed) even though I have the recommended specs...i also have the latest drivers for my graphics card. This is annoying, especially for Need for Speed! PES is playable, but only because there is a double speed setting, which allows me to play at a normal speed. Any suggestions.....?

Close all unused programs running in the background
These will be displayed beside your clock and/or in task manager

I have the same problem on a freinds computer. It used to run Freelancer fine and but now it and some other games run slow but not jerky. I think this must be a driver problem or somthing because it used to work befor

just a thought on the origonal post if the game speed can be changed and it improves i wouldent think that closing all the desktop progams would make much differnce

I have alos been experienceing this problem on realy old games that would run on a computer half the speed
