After formatting my c drive successfully i rebooted the machine with win 98 disk in the drive. I got to the setup page and after 100% on loading bar it said
 ERROR WRITE. VIRUS: CONTINUE Y/N
Aftr pressing y it just froze and would not allow me to progress in the setup. Could this be my hard drive has a virus infection or soemthing? i am not well knowledged in computers. Please help

Since you formatted your drive, you may still have a boot sector virus but those are somewhat rare these days.

I would boot off a Win98 Startup disk, run 'FDISK /mbr' at the A: prompt to re-write the master boot record then re-install Windows.

Are you using a burnt cdr of Win98 that may perhaps have a virus on it?

Hi, I had the same problem go into your BIOS and disable the virus protection.  Then retry, after you install you can always go back in and enable it again.

Hi. I cant even get the CD to run. After Formatting i get a message that setup needs the largest executable program to be at least 45kb to run. Using a SCSI HD. would that make a difference?
