Operating System Version: Windows XP Pro
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model: Linksys Wireless G router and PCMIA card
Error Messages:

Unable to get laptop to access desktop files and network printer.  Linksys Router is hardwired to decktop. Laptop does connect to internet via Linksys Wireless G card but cannot access desktop.  Desktop will ping laptop but laptop cannot ping desktop. Both systems are Windows XP Pro.   Linksys Laptop wireless software was installed before Windows XP Pro upgrade was installed. Am unable to uninstall Linksys software on the laptop.

Other info:
Desktop, WinXPPro, connected to the WRT54G with cat5.  Internet connection

Laptop, WinXPPro with WPC54G talks to the internet.  Linksys WPC54G was
installed prior to upgrade to XPPro.

Desktop and laptop workgroup=MSHOME.  Firewall function in network config
has been turned off.
Laptop firewall function also off.

Laptop Systray shows both Linksys app running and active connection with MS
Linksys icon shows WPC54G is inactive, MS? icon shows "Wireless
NetworkConnection (linksys)" as active.

On Laptop, Linksys software will not install.

Desktop pings Laptop OK.  Laptop times out on attempt to ping Desktop.  Both
ping Router OK.

When selcting "View Workgroup Computers" on Desktop or Laptop, error returns "MSHOME is not accessible..."
