PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows 98
Problem Application Name & Version: outlook express and yahoo messenger
Problem Hardware Make & Model: gateway
Error Messages: windows cannot find program.exe   this program is needed for opening files types of hypertext transfer protocol


I keep getting this message when i do these 2 things -
click on a link on my outlook express email]
and
when i click on "view profiles" for my yahoo messenger
also happens some when i right click for link to open in another window.
I was recently hit by a virus (surprise) and this problem came about after i cleaned/scanned my computer.  Can anyone help?

Hi,
Re-Install Internet Explorer.
Go into the Control Panel and double click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
Double click Internet Explorer and choose the Repair option.

If that does not solve the problem then go back to the Add/Remove Programs, double click I.E. and this time choose Restore the Previous Windows Configuration.
Click the Advanced button.
In the Internet Explorer & Internet Tools window, choose Restore the Previous version of I.E. and Windows components.
From the list below put a tick in the box marked "Microsoft Outlook Express version........"  and click OK.
