Operating System Version: Win98SE
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages: This device has a problem: Code  = 29. This device has been disabled in the hardware. In order to use this device, you must re-enable the hardware.

I have a zip drive and a CDRW. Neither the CDRW or Zip drive can be seen under 'my computer'. I have recently updated the BIOS but this problem existed before i did this. The BIOS upgrade was a possible solution to this problem. If i go to the 'system information' under 'system tools' i get the following for problem devices. Unfortunately i have no idea what this means:
Secondary IDE controller (dual fifo)
 This Device Has a Problem: Code=29 (0x1D)
This device has been disabled in the hardware. In order to use this device, you must re-enable the hardware. See your hardware documentation for details.

Most likely the secondary IDE controller is disabled in the BIOS.

Hit <DEL> key (on most systems) to enter BIOS setup during system power up and look for the option and enable it.
