PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version: Windows XP Home
Problem Application Name & Version: N/A
Problem Hardware Make & Model: N/A
Error Messages: N/A

I have decided to format my hardrive and re-install windows so I can start from scratch. How do I go about this?

The main problem is because I can't find a way to reboot and go into Ms-Dos mode I can't format the drive as when you start up and select which mode you want to go into the only mode is Ms-Dos prompt, which runs inside the OS so you can't format it while your in there...

Hmm I don't understand your question, do you mean you can't find the procedure to reformat your computer? All you really need to do is start up your computer and put in the disk and the turn it off for 30 seconds, then start it up  again.

Hi,

WinXP does not have an MS-DOS mode you can boot to.

Boot off your WinXP cd and during setup you will have the option to remove the existing partition and then recreate it, which will wipe the drive, and then setup will format the newly created  partition and proceed to install Windows.

If the problem you're having is with Windows then I would suggest you try a repair installation first before wiping the drive. A repair installation can be done by booting off the WinXP cd....
