PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:windows xp home
Problem Application Name & Version:Cd drive
Problem Hardware Make & Model:got an other 1 still not working
Error Messages:none

Cd drive has just stopped reading any cds of any format at all.
i have tried uninstalling and re-installing it to no avail.
so i went and got a new one and that still would not read any data on the disks.
so then i reinstalled windows and that did not work.
the only other thing that i thought i could do is to format my hard drive and start all over again.
Except my hard drive has 2 partitions 1 with the operating system on is in NTFS and the other FAT32.
This gives me another problem. How do u format a drive partitioned in NTFS?
Any help would be welcomed.
thanx Mark.

Hi,

Boot off the WinXP cd and during setup you will have the option to remove the partition, re-create it and format it.
