Operating System Version:Win XP Pro

Problem Hardware Make & Model:Not sure it's hardware

do you have an antivirus program installed? if not get one and do a scan , also might want to do an online virus scan  also make sure you have all the critical updates from microsoft installed that you need it sounds like it could be the msblaster virus

When I die, I want to die like my grandmother, who died peacefully
in her sleep.  Not screaming like all the passengers in her car.
