PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:2000 SP4
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:HP7760 printer/Dazzle SM card reader
Error Messages:2000 won't boot up

This is an AMD K6 400Mhz machine.  Just did a fresh install on 2000.  Had 98 before and never had these problems.

2000 hangs if I start up with any USB devices enabled.  I have to hit the kill button, start in safe mode, and disable all USB devices.  Then and only then will 2000 power up.  Once it is up, I can enable all devices and the printer and card reader will work fine.

I have changed the driver from "Unsupported VIA ..." to "VIA enabled..."  And this doesn't seem to help.  Someone at work here suggested I check the "IRQ".  I have no idea what this is.

Does anyone have a similar problem or have a solution?
