PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:windows 200
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:Compaq Armada 7400, pentinum II
Error Messages:upon opening Windows I receive an error message to remove all new hardware and check for virus. I have tried everyway i know to get to a safe mode so I can wipe clean and start over. It simply will not let me get to command line. I cannot get to task manager or safe mode will not go thru.

Any suggestions on how to clean my hard drive or reformat. Is there a backdoor method to use.

thank???

Hi,

Boot off the Win2k cd and setup will start. There is an option during setup to remove the drive's partition, recreate it and then format the drive. Then setup will continue to install Windows.

I have tried to boot off the cd but I do not recall having that option come up. I will try it again.

Thank you!

Hi,

Read every screen carefully and before you're asked where to install windows, it will say to hit such a key to remove the partition.
