PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:windows 98
Problem Application Name & Version:
Problem Hardware Make & Model:
Error Messages:

When windows boots up neither cd drive is recognised. I have two computers in the house with the same symptom. These are not networked. One machine crashes after about 15 minutes and when rebooted has no cd drives. After an hour or so switched off the drives reappear when rebooted. The other machine just doesn't show the drives at all. (both machines have also had a problem running MSPAINT) Please can you suggest what it might be (Anti virus software doesn't detect anything.)

I've been brave and opened the case of the machine that crashes, and have blown lots of dust and fluff out of the processor cooling fan. Fingers crossed, these seems to have worked on this machine. I guess it was a cooling problem.
