I'm trying to resurrect a previous pc which "died" after, I think, the "Sobig" virus.
It appears that my hard disk has disappeared completely.
I can boot up using the floppy up to a message saying
Windows 98 detects that C drive does not contain a valid FAT or FAT 32 partition and then gives 3 possible reasons and returns to a:
Tried using Norton disc to check but check took all of a nanosecond and found no viruses.
Any help would be appreciated (in words of 1 syllable please!!)

Hi AJ,
Get the make of the hdd.Go to the mfg's site & download the diagnostic utility,put it on a floppy & run it.See if it finds any errors.
