PLEASE SUPPLY RELEVANT INFORMATION:
Operating System Version:  Windows XP Professional
Problem Application Name & Version:  Messenger Service
Problem Hardware Make & Model: Pentium II (Trend)
Error Messages:

Hello, hello!  I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of these types of pop-ups.  I've tried both settings (Disabled and Manual) in Administrative Tools--Services and I also have installed the SP1 for XP, which is supposed to "close" this opening.  Any ideas?  Thanks...

Well...I tried the Shoot The Messenger .exe file; I've tried enabling my Windows XP firewall; I've changed my settings in Messenger services to "disable" and those popups "Internet Explorer" (with numbered IP addresses) are STILL getting in.  Is there a way to close this "gateway" permanently?  It's weird...none of my other friends are having these problems, and I thought I had a more security PC :-(

Do you have a popup stopper for "Internet Explorer"...Google Toolbar is quite efficient with IE or EMS Free Surfer
Here's a link to both

If you do have a blocker you can test it here..They recommend disabling
java when you test, but that is not usually an option for a lot of folks
Causes more problems entering sites...
Run this test on your browser
http://www.jasons-toolbox.com/BrowserSecurity/

or safer yet download and run Mozilla Firefox
